About

Hi, I’m Sonja. Thanks for visiting my blog. I started blogging at Sonja’s Kitchen in December of 2007. It all started as a way for me to share recipes with my friends and family. As much as I love to cook though, I also like to eat and drink out sometimes. It may be a simple drive-in burger, a well-crafted cocktail or a multi-course gourmet meal. So, since this blog has evolved to less about ME cooking, it’s out with Sonja’s Kitchen and in with Satisfy the Craving.

Satisfy the Craving is pretty much how I eat. If I am craving something – I eat it. In other words, I let me stomach push me around a little bit. I am a reformed vegetarian with an extreme fondness for all pork products, authentic Mexican food, eggs cooked every way, the bountiful seafood and produce of the Pacific Northwest,  and small batch Bourbon.

When I am not blogging here, you can follow me on the Seattle Weekly’s food blog, Voracious. I write about beer, wine and cocktails every Monday in a column called In the Cups. On Wednesdays, you’ll find my cookbook reviews in my Cooking the Books column.

If you’d like to contact me, please email sonjagroset@gmail.com.
